Gotze leaves jilted bride Klopp in tears

After leaving Borussia Dortmund for Bundesliga title rivals Bayern Munich in the summer, it was almost inevitable that the Germany international would eventually come back to haunt his old club.

And, just over four months after moving the the Allianz Arena, Gotze made a telling contribution on his return to Signal-Iduna Park.

The 21-year-old came off the bench to a chorus of boos and broke the deadlock shortly after, firing past Roman Weidenfeller.

Bayern completed a 3-0 win thanks to Thomas Muller and Arjen Robben, but it was Gotze who Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp believed to have changed the game.

"I do not care how badly we lost," he said. "The second and the third goal do not represent this match.

"Bayern played differently. They played many long balls and they were very patient. We had the bigger chances until the 1-0 and we had a huge chance for the 1-1.

"But you have to convert these chances. After the second goal you could see the team had a crack. I don't care about the third goal."

Bayern chief issues Gotze sponsor warning

Bayern Munich star Mario Gotze has caused a stir between sponsors for the second time since moving to the Allianz Arena.

Upon moving to Bayern, Gotze was pictured wearing clothes made by Nike while holding the club's shirt, made by rival kit manufacturers adidas.

And the former Borussia Dortmund man has again been photographed sporting Nike clothing.

Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, the Bayern chief executive, has offered some advice to Gotze.

"Maybe [it was a publicity stunt], I do not know," the 58-year-old told Bild. "But maybe there is also an intention by the company to annoy another competitor. I imagine that could be the case.

"But he should not let them abuse him. That would be my advice to him."

Gotze considers Messi an idol

Amid reports suggesting Pep Guardiola will deploy Mario Gotze as a 'false No.9' at Bayern Munich, the Germany international says he keen to aspire towards the playing heights of Barcelona's maestro.

"Lionel Messi is a role model for everyone, including me," Gotze said.

"I don't see the transfer amount as extra pressure. It's something to be proud of having just turned 21.

"Looking back, it wasn't easy when the news broke that I was leaving Dortmund, but that's behind me now. The important thing is to develop myself and I wanted to do that at Bayern."

Injured Gotze ready to 'do a Terry' at Wembley

Mario Gotze is in a win-win situation on Saturday at Wembley. Regardless of who triumphs out of Bayern and Dortmund in the all-German Champions League final extravaganza, Gotze can gatecrash either party.

It has been confirmed that the 20-year-old Bayern Dortmund Bayern Dortmund (??) playmaker will miss out on appearing in the game at the home of English football as he lost his battle to recover from a thigh injury but that doesn't mean he has to miss out on the post-match celebrations, just ask John Terry.

The Chelsea skipper has built up a reputation for popping up in the right place at the right time, in full strip, of course, when the ticker tape begins to fall and with Gotze swapping BVB for Bavaria in the summer, he may just be tempted to get involved in the celebrations, whatever the outcome.

Pep & Gotze prepare to tag in to Munich Mania as Barca are rumbled

Bayern Munich showed their muscle in the Champions League on Tuesday night, with the 4-0 hammering of Barcelona putting them on the brink of reaching next month's Wembley final.

Two goals from Thomas Muller and one each for Mario Gomez and Arjen Robben secured a resounding first-leg triumph at the Allianz Arena to send the Munich crowd into absolute rapture.

On course for the treble this season and with Pep Guardiola and Mario Gotze set to jet in to join the Bavarians in 2013-14 - it's a pretty darn good time to be a Bayern fan, that's for sure.
