Somali referee Omar Artan denied entry to USA
Somali referee Omar Abdulkadir Artan was set to become the first Somali referee in FIFA World Cup history.
After arriving in the United States for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, he was reportedly denied entry by U.S. authorities despite holding a valid visa and was sent back before the tournament began.
A dream years in the making ended at the airport gate.
