No place for Victor Valdes and Rafael
Going, going, gone! No time for sentiment as Victor Valdes and Rafael aren't selected by Louis van Gaal for the club's pre-season tour of the US.

Barca & Atletico all square in La Liga tug of war
Barcelona took on second-place Atletico Madrid at the Vicente Calderon on Saturday evening and drew plenty of admirers for a highly entertaining 0-0 draw.
Contested at a ferocious pace, Diego Simeone's side showed they have kept pace with Barcelona on merit and extended their lead over city rivals Real Madrid to six points.
Post-match comments also saw Atletico winger Arda Turan describe Lionel Messi as an 'alien' after a half-time cameo from the Argentina star.

Pedro flies the flag as Spain conquer France
Spain ensured they regained full control of both their World Cup 2014 destiny and top spot in Group I on Tuesday after they battled to a 1-0 victory over France.
Despite Paul Pogba's red card, a closely-contested match at Stade de France was decided by a sole Pedro finish on the shade of an hour to give Didier Deschamps and his troops a case of les Bleus in their quest to reach the finals in Brazil.
Prior to kick-off, Spanish newspaper Marca - in a bid to taunt their Gallic neighbours - printed a front page of the Eiffel Tower resembling the colours of la Roja, and it seems they have now got their wish following the world champions' latest conquer!

Valdes sees red as Mourinho and Ronaldo keep their Clasico cool
It's not been going well for Barcelona of late; they're sailing away with the Spanish title but have hit a rocky patch with a Champions League defeat to AC Milan, a Copa del Rey loss to Real Madrid and a La Liga defeat to los Blancos on Saturday afternoon, leading to pundits declaring the untimely death of The Greatest Team In History.
It all got a bit too much for goalkeeper Victor Valdes, who was sent off by referee Miguel Angel Perez Lasa after repeatedly shouting "You have no shame!" in the official's face for failing to award a late penalty to Barca.
The futures of Jose Mourinho and Cristiano Ronaldo may be a little uncertain but everything's coming up roses for the Portuguese duo at the moment - now it's just the small matter of beating Manchester United in the Champions League on Tuesday and reeling in Barca's 13-point lead to attend to...

Boateng & Milan knock Barcelona off their perch
The best team in Spain. The best team in the world. The best team in the
history of football. Barcelona have certainly taken lots of plaudits
over the past few years, and few would have thought the Blaugrana would
be leaving San Siro empty-handed ahead of their Champions League tie
against Milan.
But that's the funny thing about football: it never quite happens as you would expect it to. Former Portsmouth duo Kevin-Prince Boateng and Sulley Muntari put the team in yellow to the sword with two goals in the second half, the latter a fine move and finish that hands the Italian side all the momentum heading into the second leg, as the Prince went about ruffling the feathers of Puyol, Messi and co.

Barcelona & Messi fail to tame Celtic Lions
Celtic may have come unstuck against Barcelona two weeks ago at Camp Nou, but Neil Lennon's men got the better of the Catalan giants on Wednesday evening with an emphatic 2-1 win.
Lionel Messi grabbed a late goal for Spaniards, but it proved to be nothing more than a consolation, with efforts from Victor Wanyama and Tony Watt ensuring Celtic's Lions roared to victory at Parkhead...

Valdes plays the clown as Barcelona blunder leaves Real Madrid laughing
Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes has been left looking the clown after his late blunder allowed Real Madrid to pull a goal back in the Supercopa Clasico clash which ended 3-2 on Thursday night.
However, Valdes' heavy touch from a pass back led to Angel Di Maria easily pouncing on the loose ball and ensuring the cup competition is not over with the second leg of the tie to be played next Wednesday.
