Casillas' birthday wish comes true as Mourinho leaves Madrid

And so the Special One finally departs the Bernabeu. What better day to do it on than the birthday of club captain, and feud-er in chief, Iker Casillas?

The pair had a rocky relationship this season, with Casillas' Spain team-mate and Barcelona rival Xavi lambasting Mourinho for his "terrible" treatment of the keeper.

But late on Monday, Real Madrid announced that they were parting company with Mourinho by mutual consent, and the manager is set to join Chelsea within the next two weeks.

So, happy birthday to Iker Casillas, who got exactly what he might have wished for.

Should I stay or should I go? Barton's move 'dilemma'

On-loan Marseille midfielder Joey Barton will have a big decision to make over his future in the summer - stay in France should that option be on the table or head back to parent club QPR?

If current Rangers boss Harry Redknapp's advice is anything to go by, then a return to Loftus Road seemingly wouldn't be the wisest decision.

The former Portsmouth manager spoke of Barton's picturesque drive to work in an interview on Friday but if it's rain, skyscrapers, Redknapp's face and the Championship that the one-time Newcastle midfielder is after, then QPR could just be the place to be next season...

Guardiola tries London, Manchester & Munich on for size

The race for Pep Guardiola's signature has well and truly begun. The former Barcelona manager revealed he will return to management this summer after a year's sabbatical, prompting Europe's biggest clubs into a scramble for his services.

While reports that Guardiola has agreed to manage Bayern Munich are wide of the mark, meetings have taken place between both parties, with 'FC Hollywood' ready to move mountains to land the man they think will take them back to the top of Europe.

The 41-year-old could perhaps link up with old Camp Nou colleagues Ferran Soriano and Txiki Begiristain at Manchester City after revealing his wish to manage in the Premier League.

Or he could be the man to finally take over the reins at Manchester United, with Sir Alex Ferguson himself hinting the Spaniard could be the man to fill his shoes.
