Neuer unleashed as Bayern sign Reina
Could Pep Guardiola be considering a dramatic change of tactics following the arrival of Pepe Reina?
Sweeper keeper Manuel Neuer, who has made dashing from his goal to meet opponents something of a trademark, may finally get his chance to feature further up the pitch with the signing of the Liverpool goalkeeper.
Bayern begin their Bundesliga campaign on August 22 against Wolfsburg - it remains to be seen if both goalkeepers are given a place in the starting XI...

Ghost buster: Wenger hopes to avoid being haunted by Napoli
Arsenal take on Napoli in the Champions League on Tuesday with manager Arsene Wenger set to face Gonzalo Higuain, a man he tried, and failed, to sign in the summer transfer window.
The Argentine striker, is not the only familiar face for the Gunners as Rafael Benitez brings his Serie A side to the Emirates Stadium, including goalkeeper Pepe Reina another one-time transfer target of the Gunners.
Wenger's men go into the game in confident mood, two points clear at the top of the early Premier League table, but will be hoping the ones that got away do not return to haunt his men.

Window pain for Wenger as David Villa slips out of Arsenal's grasp
It could have been another long-running transfer saga involving Barcelona and Arsenal, but now the Catalans have declared that striker David Villa is not for sale at any price.
The Gunners had made a formal approach, but after Barca manager Tito Vilanova said the Spaniard was not for sale, Goal.com exclusively revealed that the Londoners were relenting in their pursuit.
However, Arsene Wenger has now reportedly turned his attention to Atletico Madrid's Adrian Lopez, so it's clear that the Gunners will keep trying for a new striker until they finally get one in the transfer window.

Rooney and Van Persie have the Premier League at their mercy
Manchester United maintained their six-point lead at the top of the Premier League with a 3-1 victory over Sunderland on Saturday, and once again, Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie were on hand to fire their team to victory.
The Dutchman grabbed his 12th league goal of the season to open the scoring at Old Trafford, and strike partner Rooney was not far behind with his seventh of the campaign.
Now having disposed of Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and arch-rivals Manchester City already this year, the gigantic partnership of Rooney and Van Persie has the Premier League scurrying for cover...

Liverpool trip up after comedy of errors
It was a day to forget for Kenny Dalglish and his Liverpool side as they went down 2-0 to Champions League-chasing Newcastle at St. James' Park on Sunday.
In a comedy of errors that encapsulated the
Mersysiders' entire campaign, Andy Carroll was booked early on for
diving when he had already rounded Magpies keeper Tim Krul. Pepe Reina
was then sent off late on for a headbutt on James Perch, which resulted
in left-back Jose Enrique pulling on the gloves.
Dour Scot Dalglish was left exasperated at the final whistle, as his side look to have let Champions League football - much like Carroll - slip from under them for another year.
